I decided to try to go fishing for coho for the first time
this weekend. I got together all my new gear and all the things
I thought I would need. Any information I have regarding how to
fish for coho has been culled from books and articles on the
internet. Judging from my experience on the lake, this was
clearly not the kind of preparation that was going to get me any
fish. I'm just glad I didn't buy a smoker before going out to get
skunked. I trolled at an unknown depth (no fish finder/down rigger)
for an unknown amount of time (no watch). I was there from
mid-morning to mid-afternoon and the only thing I managed
to catch was somebody else's line. Luckily the day was really nice
and it was a good opportunity to use the boat once more before
putting it up for the winter. Oh, yeah I trolled back and forth
just north of the 520 just because there were other more expensive
boats there that looked like they might have fish finders and
people on board who knew what they were doing. Although I didn't
see any of them catch anything either.
