We fished about 250 yards off of the shoreline in different areas
from "Little Store" to a little bit north of South Cove between the hours of 6:00-9:00 PM. Started with worms. No bites, and no nibbles. However, at our last destination, something amazing happened. Either Rainbows or Cutthroats began emerging all around us sucking up flies! Unfortunately, I did not bring my fly rod, and I tried to throw all the spinners I could think of all to no avail. I even tried a split-back perch Rapala--no deals.
What I can tell you is 8:30 through sundown is a great time to bring you fly rod out there and land same BIG fish. I have absolutely no idea what the hatch is right now, so I would assume that you fish them with nymphs 3' below the surface. Good luck fly-rodders!
