Arrived at Rattlesnake around noon, even though bites have tended to be best early in the morning. I fished with an orange rooster tail (clipped off two of the hooks from the treble hook and then pinched down the barb). Someone took interest in it on my first cast, but I couldn't land it. Continued to get lots of hits both deep and nearer to the surface. My boyfriend reeled in a 12-incher using an orange and yellow "Needlefish" lure which comes with a larger (1/4 inch) single hook. Around 1:30 or 2:00 the fish were jumping absolutely everywhere, and, as my luck would have it, the boat sprung a leak. That ended our season at Rattlesnake, but we'll be back next year! If you come properly prepared (like with a boat that doesn't have holes in it), I don't see how this lake could disappoint you.
