Beautiful sunny Saturday. Air temp mid 60's.
Water temp was 47 near middle of lake, 50
in most of shallows at south end.
Deepest Hole I found in the lake was 13'.
Most of the lake is 7' to 9' deep. Quite a few fishers out. Shore casters were abundant and the boaters seemed to be usinga lot of "gang trolls". One fly fisher was out in his tube. Gang trollers seemed to account for a handful of trout (10 to 12" as close as I could see). I tryed a small rapala, black spinners, and small worm harnesses tipped with worms and then with
powerbait with no success. Noted a number of fish rise in the south end shallows. Think small flys are probably the ticket here for trout.
This lake takes a lot more pressure
than I would have guessed. Surprised the fisheries folks haven't noticed and set up a more agressive stocking program.
