My Father and I fished Bead Lake from 7 - 12 am. We saw fish on the fish finder but couldn't get them to bite. In Newport at the sporting goods store, the owner caught a 19 lb. Lake trout last weekend. Also I was told that the new state record burbot was just caught out of this lake. They showed me the picture. It was a monster. Locals tell me there are 40 pound Lake trout in this lake and I'll be back again to try for one. They told me to use a K 16 flat fish, silver and chartreuse.

I was trolling along the pier on the south with a 5 inch trout looking repalla and i trolled around there in a canoe for about 30 minutes until i get a good bite and the fight is on. the fight lasts for about 10 minutes until i unhook him and it weighed in as a 5 pound sqwafish that was about a a foot and a half long that was pretty chunky.... that was the only catch of the 12 days that we have been there. but the work payed off i guess it could have been better
