As often as I have fished this lake I always look forward to getting out and trying my luck. I've been fishing this lake for the last 6 or 7 years and I am never disappointed and this day was no exception. I started out about 6:30, a little late but what the heck it was mothers day and we all have mothers. I started out trolling a green/orange rooster tail right off the landing heading out to the north end of the island. I no sooner let out my line and looked where I was going and I hooked the first fish of the day, a nice fat rainbow. I could tell it was gonna be a good day. I hooked two more before I ever got to the island. Not bad for the first 15 minutes.
I then headed across the lake to the hospital and threw on the old faithful wedding ring that's been hiding in my box for a few years and trolled it just under the surface, I got a few hits on the first pass but couldn't hook any. I decided to throw on a couple split shot and go a little deeper and then the fun began I hooked five more fish in the next 1/2 hour. 1 kokanee and 4 rainbows. I had to give up on the trout I had my limit in the first hour, time to go find some perch which are huge in this lake. fired up the old evinrude and headed for the new marina and dropped a worm right off the bottom in 20 feet of water and got a meal of perch in about 15 minutes. Wow what a great day, I love this lake
