I have fished Martha throughout the spring and early summer with good success and the rainbows have been fat, decent fighters up to 14 inches. The lake had quite a bit of pressure but now the pressure is light as the water has warmed and the take has slowed. The fish are there however but you have to work for them and go deep. I only had time to make one pass up and down the lake but picked a nice fish at about 25 feet in the north end. The fish finder was marking a lot of fish right on the bottom and most of the indications were in the 35 foot depths, which accounts for the deeper parts of the lake. I still am dragging a black or brown wooly worm but also had a couple of good hits on a red wooly bugger. The key, if trolling, is slow, slow slow to keep you fly down. A guy that I see fishing there almost every day has taken some fish in the multiple pound range just drifting a worm right off the bottom.

For a small lake in the middle of suburbia, I think it is still a good choice.
