Got on the lake about 8am saturday morning. Started the day by trolling a black leech pattern and was rewarded with 3 14-16inch rainbows. Wind was strong in the afternoon but with the chronimids back the fishing remained good. Caught seven in the afternoon from 11-3pm all good sized most 18-20inches.
Caught one hog 25inches and about 6lbs. Took a break for dinner and headed back out for the evening bite. Caught 5 more that evening still on chronimids all larger fish as well.
Only fished a few hours Sunday morning fishing was a little slower but still good. I was using leaches and blood red and olive chronimids. Some guys were using scuds and damsal nymphs and having some success. The larger fish were being caught on chronimids and the hog I fought made the trip worthwile. The fish are great fighters here and will give your reel a workout. We fished usually 30-50ft from shore and worked the banks down to about 30ft in some places. Caught about 15 fish all weekend but lost about as many. all and all a fabulous weekend. Watch out for the wind in the afternoon, make sure you have an anchor. Remember single barbless hooks and only one fish per day. Oh yeah! the day before we got to the lake the owner of the Big Twin Camp caught a 10lb rainbow from the bank by the boat launch. Have fun and FISH ON!!!!
