My cousin and I started out fishing on Lake Spanaway and didn't get a single bite so we decided to head out to Spencer Lake. He's always talked highly of the lake so I said let's take the drive out there and go get some fish. We arrived at the lake at about 10:30 a.m. Loading the boat in the lake and we were off. I had a broken back white rapala still on so I decided to give it a try before switching to a super-duper and do some trout trolling. The very first cast towards the shore and bang, a nice 2# largemouth bass! The first one of the 2000 season. Took a picture, gave him a kiss and turned him loose. That was it for bass for the rest of the day. We trolled for trout and caught about 10 that were about 9 inches long. Turned them all loose. More fun to catch than to eat! All in all it was a pretty fun trip. Well worth the hour and a half drive.
