Hit Spencer about 7am,overcast 45F, water temp was 55f, motored out to the middle with my 2 buddies and slow drifted small yellow, pink and orange corkies tipped with a worm or maggot right off the bottom. 5 minutes into the drift/troll the bite was on. First fish was a nice hard fighting 14 incher. Chrome bright and spunky as hell. But we had just hit the tip of the
iceberg. By the end of the day we had caught and released 64, yes 64, nice plump drag rippin rainbows with the biggest being close to 17 inches 2lbs. It was an udder slamfest. If you looked away for a second you could easily lose your pole if not properly secured. It was so good that my buddy John pulled out his biggest orange spinNglo with no weight or bait, just a treble hook on it and threw it out about 30 ft behind the boat and within 10
seconds we saw a big ripple in the water dart over to the spinNglo to take a look and WHAM he hooked a nice fatty. Thinking it was a fluke he threw it back out and had another in under a minute. I've fished a lot of lakes for trout and Spencer is the hands down winner for 12"-20" chrome pink rockets that you can catch all year long with outstanding results.
