We set out very early to Summit Lake, my friend Mauri and his two
uncles. We got to the lake about 0630. There was no one there yet, so we were able to launch quickly. We started out from the boat launch and headed to the right. I trolled Flatfish and Mauri trolled worms. We caught a couple of 8-10" bows while we were doing a loop around the lake. Little did we know that the best spot on the lake is just to the left of the boat launch in a large area of the lake that is only 8 feet deep. No need to set out for deeper water. Once we discovered we were in the hot spot of the lake we started to tear it up. Even caught a nice 10" smallie. Trolling power bait did the trick! We did not hook into any big boyz but there was a guy at the launch when we were leaving that had 2 18" bows and he was trolling in the shallow end of the lake also.
All in all a descent day..
Tight Lines!
