I arrived just after Labor Day and stayed at Tiffany's. Fishing
was slow at first as the fish recovered from the jet boats, water skiers and
high speed boat events on Labor day. We stayed a week and caught more bass
than trout, even though the trout fishing was improving dramatically.
I had the best luck with bass fishing by sticking a "frog" wiggler on the
rear hooks of a small green diving trout plug. They seemed to like green
and black the best.
On the trout front we found that either green or orange power bait seemed to
work out best.
ONE OBSERVATION: the various resorts around the lake have big powerful night
lights around their docks and I observed some very large (Bass, Tiger
muskies, or trout?) come into to these areas, before day break, and raise
hell after the small bass and trout that live around these docks. Actually
tearing up the water! I pulled in a 5 pound female largemouth playing on
this observation ( I released the fish). Had I known this earlier, I think
I could have scored!
