My buddy Ed and I had Friday off so we decided to take his boat out to St. Clair for a day on the water. This was the first time I had ridden in his boat since his remodel. We started plunking with power bait on the NW cove behind the island and had a couple of bites, I landed one 13 incher, the green (chartuse) usually works the best for us but it was slow this day. We moved to the SW side of the bridge and anchored, I landed a stocker and was skunking Ed big time until his pole doubled. He brought in an 18" bow
(the biggest trout he has ever caught) and shortly after that I landed another 12" bow. It was a beautiful day to be out, we stopped early and headed home with enough fish for a good dinner for both families (no sense in taking too many). The fish were surfacing all morning, a fly would probably done great, but that's one thing we haven't tried yet. Have a good day on the water and tight lines.
