Rented a boat at Mar Don. Dad and I trolled around with no luck for three hours. Several boats at mouth of Frenchman's but saw no fish caught. We tied on a couple of diving crank baits and trolled back in the dunes. I finally caught a small rainbow on a gold and black Fat Rap. Told dad "Two more like that and we'll have enough for dinner." We decided to concentrate our efforts in the area where we picked up the rainbow. We switched to spinner worm rigs. In the next hour and half we caught three more rainbows and a walleye. Dad's rainbows were 18", 17", and 14". Shaped like footballs. That first rainbow was 12" and looked a bit thin. The walleye was about 7 lbs. and fell to a homemade spinner. Good day that started out real slow. Chartreuse blades seemed to be best for the trout. The walleye took a silver blade Indiana spinner. Don't forget sunscreen.
