I went out to Star lk around 1:30 pm and was fishing around docks and pads. I was using Mr. Frog. Was getting a little bored and kinda floated up to a kid on the dock and he asked if there were any bass in the lake. I said I've seen plenty but no luck. I just kept casting right next to where he was fishing. He was casting a worm out I think. I threw right next to him again and got a good swirl from the pads I was in. I hit reverse real quick on the elec. motor. Lucky me .............it wasn't all the tight. It vibrated itself off the bracket board. I messed with it for 5 secs and tightened it up. Backed up a little and cast right back to the same spot and crawled the frog onto a pad and let it sit and it took 1/2 a sec and the bass came out of the water and landed on the pad with mouth open and swallowed him whole and Bam I set the hook and the fight was on. The best part was listening to the kid on the dock saying "hey that looked like a good 1 1/2 pounder I saw it hit." !
I laughed at him and said OOO no it ain't. I worked it outta the weeds and he had a free swim. That's when the kid got a good look at him and went "Damn that's a big fish." Got him to the boat and saw he was hooked real good. So I wasn't real worried. Took out the hooks took a photo and released him. He measured out at 19 1/2 in. and about 4 1/2 lbs. It was a good Day.
