Took a day off work and went out to Jamison lake on Friday, October 23rd.
My friend and I arrived at the lake about 11:15 and due to no wind, launched
our boat. We fished exclusively in the North End of the lake about 50 yds S
of the horse ranch. By mid afternoon, we each had our limit of fish,
including a couple in the 15 inch category. Fish were biting on both
powerbait and worms, but we found that the most effective was a good
nitecrawler buoyed up by a glob of power bait, fished near the bottom. My
friend lost a hook in one fish since the fish swallowed it so deep! We also
saw some fish biting near the surface on some flies. By the way, the
weather was in the low sixties, with about a 2-3 mph wind, and lots of sun.
We both thought that this was a much better way to spend a day than sitting
in an office with no windows!
