We hit the lake about 7 PM and decided to troll around for trout for a while. I caught one 14" rainbow using a chrome spoon about 10' down. The weather was clear and 89 Deg. As soon as the sun dropped below the trees we decided to hit the edges of the lake for bass. I was using a popper and my son was using a plastic salamander with no weight. There was a lot of action on the East side right against the bank. Most were under a pound but I did catch a 2 pounder and had a couple of heavy hits that got away. A perch colored floating Rapala worked good also as long as I kept it moving and didn't pause. This lake is a lot of fun to fish but getting access to it from the boat ramp can be tricky. The boat ramp end is choked with lily pads with only a narrow channel to navigate through.
