I hit the lake this morning around 8am and fished until noon without a strike. It seemed that the bait folks were doing ok, however. I wanted to note, though that largemouth bass fry are in the shallows abundantly and there were trout herding and slashing through them like wolves. I tried to get a piece of this action, but could not. I can only guess that real food was so plentiful or my flies not close enough for a strike.
In quick summary, I tried during my strikeout: adult damsel, green and black buggers, bead head lightening bug, red mini-leech, and a black carey's special. Flies were fished on floating, sink tip and High-D sinking lines to cover the surface to 15 feet.
