Arrived Jameson on Friday, very little wind so we tried trolling the south end. You can usually get a few hits trolling by Jack's. Nothing. We still fished near the island and caught a few plants. They seemed to like chartreuse power bait with an egg. Saturday was zero wind and we tried trolling again. None of the usual stuff worked, went back and still fished, my fishing partner hit on a nice carryover - probably 15" or 16". The fishing was slow. They weren't hitting hard and had to be coaxed by slow retreival. Once caught the small ones were extremely feisty fighters though. Sunday we fished the south end of the island again and did well on mallows with an egg. Mostly all 8-9" plants. I caught one 16" carryover that wrestled with me quite awhile. I had been releasing the little guys until I caught this keeper.Used barbless hooks to release them unharmed for next spring.
