I trolled the surface using a 1/8 oz. Kastmaster (painted like a rainbow trout) for a couple of hours with no success. Didn't really see many fish on the fishfinder. Around 11 AM I was trolling in the northerly portion of the lake in about 20 feet of water. I seen lots of fish on the fishfinder just a foot or two off the bottom. I put my Kastmaster on the downrigger (Seems kind of silly in such shallow water bur it worked). Within 10 minutes I picked up fish. It ended up being a 16 inch trout. I'm not sure what variety, but it wasn't a rainbow. I worked the area (an oval about 150 yards long) staying in water no shallower than 12 to 15 feet and didn't get any more hits, even though I could see plenty of fish down there. I was happy to get at least one, much better than getting skunked. It didn't rain today, but there was a constant 10 to 15 MPH wind out of the west the whole time I was out. Water temp at the surface was in the 55 to 56 degree range.
The lake seems to be a popular lake, but unless you have a boat on the smaller side, the boat launch is awful. I don't have a big boat (an 18' Bayliner open bow with an inboard/outdrive) but I had an awful time getting loaded. The launch area is extremely shallow, only about 2 feet +. I had to winch the boat the entire length of the trailer. All the smaller boats I seen had no problems.
The docks are all in good shaped and wide enough for people to pass by one another. All in all, I had a lot of fun. I definitely recommend this lake.
