My Dad and I arrived at Jameson Lake Friday evening and did a
little bit of trolling until it got dark. We had just a few
strikes on the different lures we tried, but nothing stayed on.
There was hardly anyone else fishing during the evening. The
wind was gusting fairly strong, and we wondered what kind of
condition the lake was going to be in the following morning. When
we got up the following morning it was cold and very windy. The
lake looked deserted. We sat in the warm truck until the sun hit
the lake and the sunshine made things a little warmer. We got the boat
already and headed out to our favorite spot. All other times but
one have we limited on this lake. We fished the lake for about
5 hours and caught 8 fish between the two of us. One was 11 1/2
inches, one was 15 inches, and the rest were 13 inches. We caught
them on orange or red or rainbow Powerbait. Considering we were
constantly battling the wind, I felt we did fairly well. The fish
we caught had excellent color inside and out. On the way back to
the boat launch I kept the fish finder on and saw tons of fish a
couple feet off the bottom and about 5 feet below the surface.
Should be more days of good fishing on the lake for those who try.
