We, myself and 2 friends drove over and fished the last weekend before closing (July 4th), and the fishing was excellent. We did run into a few of the small 4-6 inch plants, but were also rewarded with several fish of 15-16 inches, and 3 at 18 inches plus.. Limits were easy to obtain. Saturday the 30th we still fished with green Powerbait, and we all netted limits, with the smalles being about 12 inches, and the largest 18 3/4 inches.
Sunday, we opted for trolling using flatfish, Lyman #55 plug, and Rapala's. We netted mostly smaller fish, 6-12 inches, and 2 large rainbows. One at 18+ inches and 2.7 pounds. Another rainbow shy 22 inches, we didn't weigh it because we set it free & didn't want to injure it. Well worth the long drive, weather was quite warm, 85-90 degrees, no wind (a rarity for Jameson).
