My Dad and I just got back from a day of fishing at Lake Ki. We
arrived mid morning and only saw 5 other boats on the lake. We rode
out to the spot were we have caught fish before, but with the fish
finder on, we did not spot very many fish. We continued on for a
little bit and then I saw a lot of fish 3 or 4 feet off the bottom. We stopped the boat and then threw out the anchor. Once we got
anchored, we threw out our Powerbait and waited. After about 20 minutes we had our first fish on, a fiesty 13 1/2 inch rainbow.

During the first 4 1/2 hours we caught 9 fish, with the smallest being
12 inches and the largest being 13 1/2 inches. All of the fish caught
put up a good fight and had some fatness to them. We fished another hour and had no more bites. After we pulled anchor, we made a loop
around the lake with the fish finder on. The only spot we saw fish
was within a couple hundred feet on both sides where we had been
fishing. We did see others catching fish on pop gear. One guy showed
us a 19 inch fat rainbow that he had caught. With the weather sunny
and temps in the 70's and the fish biting, it turned out to be really
nice trip.
