I took my girlfriend up to Lake Ballinger in quest of her first fish. We got on the lake at 6:30, shortly after she picked up a small bass just off the island (wasn't bad for a first fish). We rowed to the north end of the lake and there she hooked into a 15" rainbow that was by far the thickest trout I've seen all year. Just after 8:00 she was setting the hook again, another beautiful rainbow almost as thick as the other. We used a small wedding ring tipped with a worm. All fish were released.
