My Dad and I fished Jameson for the spring opener. We joined the other hundreds of campers the night before at the State campground. We were on the water by 6:00am. The infamous Jameson Lake wind hardly came up the entire morning. Our strategy for the morning was to still fish for our first 8 fish and then troll with lures for the remaining 2 fish. We had 6 in the boat in less than an hour. They were all 10 1/2 inches to 11 1/2 inches in size. Most others in boats around us were doing just as well or even better. We caught our fish on Powerbait. After we had 8 fish, we pulled anchor and trolled around the sides of the lake. We were hoping to hook into bigger fish by trolling, but we were not successful. We hooked 7 trout while trolling with lures and released 5, all of them were the size we had caught still fishing. It started out as a very cold morning and warmed up to be a nice, calm, sunny day. We saw lots of people catching fish from shore and from boats. This was another nice fishing trip to Jameson.
