My four year old son and I made a visit to Quincy Lake this afternoon. While we did not have any luck in the short time we wee there, we saw some impressive fish on the stringers of those anglers willing to put some time into their fishing effort.
The trout averaged 12 to 14 inches in size and looked very healthy. I checked two groups of three anglers (one using hardware, the other group using powerbait). Both had about 3 fish per angler.
An earlier check on the opening weekend by the WDFW confirmed slow but steady takes for anglers on this lake, and the size of the fish caught was similar to what I saw.
If you have the time and patience, this could be an excellent early spring destination this year!
