I made my first trip over to Jameson this year and was very disappointed. I've been fishing here for 25 years and something is seriously wrong with the lake. This years plants are tiny in the 4-6 inch range and very skinny. Friday was sunny and calm and I caught and released dozens of tiny fish with a spinner. Nothing over 7 inches and most in the 4-6 inch range. The larger hold overs were very skinny also. One was about 12 inches with a huge head and eel like body. I caught another with a cut off face that was mutant looking. Must have been the hot summer weather. Of course the bait fishers are throwing back the small ones and the gulls are having a feast. Unless we have a very mild winter I would not bother fishing this lake next April. Sat.. was cloudy with the famous Jameson wind. We fished the larger main lake along the cliffs and picked up 6 keepers with spinner and worm. All very skinny at 10-12 inches. Sunday was still blowing, so we didn't even bother!
going out.
