Several warm days in a row. Surely, those ol' Lily Pad Lunkers should be on the prowl. I struggled to resist the urge to test out my aged bass gear - but to no avail. I drove over to the Long WDFW public access and made several casts off the dock. The only thing I could catch was clumps of moss. One boat came in while I was casting - He was checking out his gear to make a run down to the Columbia River to catch Squawfish. He said there was lots of money to be made for catching squawfish. Just as I was leaving, a young bass angler arrived to try for bass. He had a small boat but it would work well for one person. I looked it over pretty good - there was no open back seat. After leaving the WDFW access area, I drove over to the Long Lake County Park and fished off of the Fishing Pier. I had similar action as the public launch area.
Anyway, I got in some casting practice and lost a little bit of bass fever. Nice sunny day with temps in the high 70s.
