My dad and I fished Meridian today from about noon till 4pm. We trolled spoons, spinners, hoochies and rapalas with and without dodgers with nothing but one "possible" bite. As usual I chased fish finder marks with a downrigger and a long lined surface rod and my dad ran a pinch weight. Not much for surface activity besides the diving cormorants. I searched and searched but didn't see anything on the finder that looked like schooled kokanee. We made one complete lap and ran up and down the middle of the lake, circling back on any good looking fish marks. There were some scattered marks on the sonar near or below the slight thermocline at 20-30ft, and in 25ft of water suspended off the bottom. Water clarity seemed good, but with occasional weed snags. The weather was beautiful, and the surface temp ranged from 48 at the south end and 46 at the north end. I try not to get too excited until the surface temp gets up close to 52 degrees, was just being hopeful of finding some sign of the mysterious disappearing Lake Meridian kokanee.
