Skunked! Beat down, Rejected, Thumped.
Ok so I know that's why it's called fishing and not catching. I get that but it seems like a statistical anomaly that we could go all day without a bite. What are the odds? How did I manage to avoid every fish it the water? I guess it is a special talent.
We headed way up the arm and made a brief and half hearted attempt at jigging for Burbot or Walleye but lacked confidence in that plan and didn't stick it out. Had a new friend along and wanted to get him some action so headed back down to the narrows and Porcupine Bay thinking we could for sure get some Rainbows, wrong. So then we dropped down to the confluence and got blanked down there also. Sometimes your the windshield, sometimes your the bug.
Oh well, enough whining. Already planning a comeback, this games not over yet.

Persistence!!! Keep at em. I've seen many positive reports from you in the past so I am confident in your abilities. Game face on now. Fish beware!!!!

I've always found that if I tape an aspirin on my bruised ego and get back out there asap then things end much better! Never give in PT - you'll get em next time!

Thanks guys, a little thumping once in a while just makes me all the more determined to get back out there. Thinking Keller or bellow next time.

Had the same kind of day!! Ran up to porcupine started trolling and trolling no fish threw the whole tackle box at them!! Finally got one small clipped trout on a flat fish and that was it not even a bite on anything else. Fish all the way to the confluence, frustrating at best, maybe next weekend. Tight lines

Porcupine and narrows were awfully good to me in October thru November, I guess you can only expect so much. We'll get em next time.

Mark: I never went out over the weekend, but I know a bunch that did and their results were the same as yours at Merwin, Offett and Riffe lakes over here on the west side. It am convinced that fishing on certain days of the month is going to be great and other days its won't be. This las weekend was one of those times here in Washington that it wasn't a good time. I always use a best fishing days calendar now when I go out and so far it has been spot on for me. Main thing is keep at it.

My fishing calendar app had Saturday the 12th as a 45% day and we did no good. It had the 1st and the 2nd as 10% and 11% and we had pretty easy pickings. Think the fish are maybe moving down towards the dam here on Roosevelt. At least that is the theory I am using for my next information gathering trip. Might be able to go Thursday and the calendar says that will be a 10% day. Think I better get down there and check it out.

Those days happen Mark, just be thankful they don't happen often. When the bite just doesn't seem to be there, and weather is nice, I enjoy the scenery and being on the water and once in a while, I get roused from that to reel in a fish or two. Planning to be there over the weekend so will see how things are. Am actually going to put the downriggers back on the boat and make an attempt for kokanee - wish us luck.

Yeah, well we hit Hayden yesterday for our first trip there. Hunting for Kokanee and didn't get a thump, bump or even a pop up. Nada, nothing, the big zip. Will get out and try again soon as the weather cooperates!!

I guess it's just going around like a bad cold. We're all getting it. Must be something cosmic.
