We fished south of Hunters boat launch starting at about 9:30 am with very calm waters today! We caught fish consistently this morning filling the fish cooler half way up with Walleye. About 12:00 pm, we decided to go back to the Hunters launch and take a break to have lunch. After taking a quick break, the water was still calm like glass. So, we decided to go take a trip to Gifford to see if we could get some more tasty Walleye. We drifted from the Gifford Ferry south, past the island in front of Buck Canyon Lodge, all the way to the Power lines crossing Lake Roosevelt with only one fish caught. Since the bite wasn't there, I then decided to go south just north of the Hunters boat launch. We started catching fish right away with a great result; filling the other half of the fish cooler. We also went over the Burbot hole, where everyone had good results, eventually putting 6 of them in the boat this afternoon! We ended up with 45 Walleye and 6 Burbot when it was all said and done. We should of brought 2 fish poles for the trip because I could not fit all of the Walleye and Burbot on the fish pole for these guys to hold up! Needless to say, these guys took a mess of Walleye home today! Lake Roosevelt Fishing Charters will be booking trips for Walleye starting January 1, 2019 until July 2019.
