I've been out several times in the past few days and it's weird - squid this season is just slow. Monday night was pretty good, and Wednesday night was okay for a little while, but overall it's been super dead.

Last night I went out, but no squid biting so I threw on a herring jig and caught a small bucket of them in a couple hours. I fillet them and tossed the strips in borax and then in the freezer for later use.

Herring fishing is great right now, but squid is down. I'm trying again tonite.
