After two straight skunks on the big lake I was beginning to wonder. Third time was a BOOYAH! The north end was like a desert. Hit all the regular spots and didnt even mark a fish two times in a row so decided it was time to head south.
Made a couple stops along the way and still nothing. Finally made it all the way south and the fish finder lite up like a Christmas tree. The good news is the area is loaded with fish, the bad news is they hard a serious case of lockjaw. Trolled the mouth of the Cedar River looking at stacks of fish and couldnt get a hit. Headed out to deeper water and caught four nice ones in about an hour.
The fish we caught are either pre spawn or post spawn, not sure which. They werent the usual robust Lake Washington cutties. C&R all four. They all looked like the one in the pic. Very pretty.
Fish were at 40 feet and hit on a Dick Nite clown dodger and pink hoochie with worm chunk, short leader.
