Got a couple 4's and a few 3's this trip plus a smattering of 1-2.5's!

Magic depth was 25', by 'magic' I mean everything over two pounds was in 25'. The smaller fish were shallower at about 20' and deeper at 30-35'.

Water temps were mid 50's and all fish were caught on a drop shot. I briefly fished shallow but really just wanted to continue exploring deeper water.

I've never thrown a drop shot too much, mainly due to the irritation I get in my right elbow after about an hour. I watched an Aaron Martens video in which he showed a rod holding technique for drop shotting and man what a WORLD of difference!! Pain flares up in my elbow quickly while drop shotting for me, but holding the rod forward of the reel mount the way Aaron showed works astoundingly well! YouTube Aaron Martens drop shot (Everything you need to know) and watch the whole thing.
He's hard to listen to for sometimes cause he sounds "drunk", but that one tip solved a huge problem for me personally so hats off and many many thanks to Mr. Martens!

Nice fish! Thanks for the tips on the You Tube video by Aaron Martens. I've been trying to learn how to drop shot, but it's been hard getting the hang of it. Tight lines!

I've done good with it in the past but it always smoked my elbow fairly quickly... a lot of ligament irritation. Holding the rod the new way, 6 hours and ZERO pain!! Game changer!

A couple 4's and a few 3's would make it a fine day for almost any bass angler.

Agreed. I'm kinda being picky giving it a 4 I guess? A few more bites and I would have upped it...just seemed a lot of spots didn't produce and long spells of no action.
