Headed to Rattlesnake Sunday morn.....got there later than my normal time, about 9am. Foggy, but partially burned off in places.
Two rods, one a fly with Intermidate line and a beaded Olive crystal/grizzly hackle Bugger and one with spinning gear.
Fish on right away with a fair amount of action in shaded area on the left shoreline. The Bugger was getting the majority of it as I had on a FF on the spinning gear.
Got 7 working that area before the lake covered in full sun, so I headed to the opposite side of the lake and worked it. Nothing going down but a return trip up I switched the FF out for a Skeeter Daredevle Spoon (smallest size) and wham, I get a fish on the fly rod and bam one one the spinning rod too! Lost that one because of barbless hooks but later one the spoons out did the fly and gotthe bigger fish, up to 13” and fat. 18 C&R’s before I headed in at 1:30pm.
Lake was glass all day and only one other angler. Still by far the best local lake with the I drove a long ways feel. So awesome out there. It’s also FULL of fish, just hard to catch em at times.
