Drifted from Ben Howard to Lewis street from 2-7pm. the river showed little signs of life. ran spoons and plugs hoping to dug one up. Not a single hit until after 6 when we hooked a WILD coho that got away. water is very low and clear. We tried fishing the shadows, but that didn't work either.only saw one trailer and two bank anglers all day.

The reason you didn't see many anglers is because the river is closed, dude.

Lampwick, since when you close this part of the river, dude?
Smells like somebody doesn't know regulations!
Prove that I am wrong.

How about Skykomish river UPSTREAM of the Wallace river?
In additional, all salmon must be released except for marked hatchery coho on the WALLACE river and the SKYKOMISH river FROM The MOUTH TO THE WALLACE River!
Skykomish closed for salmon fishing above Wallace. Isn't that clear? LOLS!

The Sky isn’t closed. It is open to target steelhead and if you happen to catch a hatchet coho you can keep one. Read the whole emergency closure, the part about the one hatchery coho is all the way at the bottom.

All the confusion is because of how they word the regs, they do a poor job of making things clear. I haven't so much as looked at a river since the last rain. Not much point unless you fish on luck. Good luck all.
