It's been a while since I've posted anything. TMBob got me motivated to take my kayak out to Rattlesnake again to try out some new Mag Lips I got.
I trolled up and down the lake for the most part except for about 30 minutes when I saw a bunch of fish rising so pulled out the fly rod and dry flies to have a go, got one spectacular rise, big one jumping clear of the water but missed the fly and didn't come back for another go, oh well. Spent the first couple hours trolling the mag lips without the downrigger and the rest of the morning with the downrigger set at 10 feet, mag lip would dive 6-8'.
Ended the day with 10 fish, 9 of which were all 11-12 inches but the second one I caught (not using the downrigger) was a nice fat 18". Had the lake to myself for most of the morning except for about an hour when there was a guy fishing from shore, saw him pull in one. All fish were released to fight another day.
The lake is pretty low so the ramp end is now about 10' of mud so might be a challenge for trailers but I was able to wheel my kayak over it to the water without much trouble but it did get the inside of the kayak pretty muddy from my boots!
