Such a beautiful day so I headed to Rufus Woods above Bridgeport and Chief Joesph Dam. Got there about 11:00 and there were a couple boat trailers at Willow Flats boat launch. I started with the usual, both poles with leaded line, and one pole with the Macks big wings and a Macks lure double whammy loaded with a crawler on the front hook and power bait on the bottom hook. On the other pole, I used the lake troll and an Old Goat lure the 2.44 with a slow death hook loaded with a crawler. I never even fired up the big motor, I just trolled out with the minnkota. As I was starting a boat came by, also trolling, and he said he had been fishing all day and not one hit. So was not sounding good. I trolled along in a wide circle on the Douglas side then across to the cans and back around by the launch and finally got a nice hit down by the cans. After a few hours I decided to call it a day and get ready to hit below the dam the next day and give one more shot at catching a king or two before the end of the season. All in all, it was a nice day but the fishing was just not there for me. The river was down just a little and there was quite a bit of trash-like chunks of branches and stuff in the river, probably due to a recent wind storm.
