Well I am speechless and grateful for this day. We participated in the everett coho derby so went out Saturday but called it quits around 830 after getting blown off the water. Came back Sunday to redeem ourselves or at least the bare minimum is catch a few fish. Started just south of edmonds with 4 hookups and only 2 in the boat by 830. Both roughly around 7.22 lbs Fished there until 1030 which then we decided to try 8-2 before we came in. Fished near the bait house amd headed north towards everett. Within seconds of dropping my gear and 15 minutes into our troll I hooked up into what felt like a decent king. No sir it was a 12.93 coho that was fighting for its life and putting up a great fight with some nice runs and hard head shakes. After high fiving for a few minutes we decided to go weigh in our fish. My luck would have it that i placed second place in the derby and won $5,000. None of this would be possible if it wasn't for my friend Alan and his son Jason!! This is one for the books for sure. Purple haze flasher and purple haze hoochie with herring strip with 85ft on the cable. What a way to end my saltwater season for this summer!!!
