Real ratings by topic: weather -5, walleye 1, trout 3, perch 5. Appears we'll be eating fish tacos all winter instead of walleye filets. Fish and Game counter is pleading to keep all perch because of the over abundance in the lake. After the storm on 9/9 the walleye disappeared. Locals think they scattered and went deep "thinking" winter may be on the way, We had been catching south of the old Barker cyn road in 24-30 fow using purple, blue and dark red smile blades with beads to match on slow death hooks, but that ended. We stayed with a two rods using the blues, etc., but went to lighter/brighter colors and blades and managed a couple per day. Even put on the old beat up Kekeda orange fly on a 2' leader behind blades - varied the depth from 15' to 3' off the bottom - 22-24" range - most likely Lk Rosey trips that got sucked into the pumps - good red meat, not mushy (water temp 66deg all week). Would hate to see the walleye fishery replaced by trout in Banks cuz that will happen all the way down stream through Billy Clapp, Moses and Potholes - I do remember Big Wally Steinmetz saying Lake Roosevelt was the fish hatchery for Banks Lake - 750,000 net pen trips a year will have an effect.
