My husband and I decided to do a little fishing on labor day. We hit the lake about 10:30 am and fished until about 4:00 pm. Caught 4 near the weather bouy right away then it slowed down so moved over to the Westside of the lake. Marked fish but no takers. Headed over to the Eastside and picked up 6 more. Kept 8 ranging between 12" - 18" and release two smaller 10" ones. My husband caught a very large kokanee estimated around 20-22". Kokanee was carefully released to swim another day. As much as I would have loved to keep it, Kokanee must be released on Lake Sammamish. There is an ongoing effort to try to save the native population and hopefully someday they will rebound. Tackle used - Diamond Flash 50/50 Silver/Gold spinner with Poulson Half Fast 50/50 dodger and Green God's tooth kokanee troll rig with RMT Watermelon Bahama dodger.
