Had an awesome morning fishing lake Stevens! I’ve been fishing Stevens the last couple weeks and getting limits consistently. Met up with a CO worker of mine and met up at the launch around 5:35am, lines in the water at about 6:00am. Before I can even get the stacking set up on the other downrigger, boom double hookup! It was pretty consistent through the the 3 hours we fished! Doubles and triples were the norm. We fished mostly the east shoreline and in the middle of the lake. I’ve found the last 4 years I’ve been fishing Stevens, Kokanee this time of year will be starting to hit there “spawning phase” which means just like the the Salmon out in the Salt, are going to stack up before heading up the creeks to spawn. Well for Stevens anyway, there’s a couple creeks that connect to the lake on the North East end of the lake. Those fish are going to stack up in huge numbers before they start heading up the creeks which means more fish can be caught when your dragging your gear threw those huge schools. So for this time year pay attention to where those creeks are at in the lake, because most likely the fish there are going to stacking up and feeding heavily in huge schools. Finished off the day with 2 limits of Kokanee and hooked at least 35 fish. We also fished 30-35 feet seems like for this year fish aren’t going to be that deep, for my experience anyway. The gear of choice were Spinners all the way on 3 rods. Trolled behind Arrow Flash dodgers and Dick Nite dodgers. Pink, 50/50 Gold, Orange and Green was what we were using all morning. Also used orange corn and then gordged the whole lure in Krill/Anise Super Dipping Sauce before it goes on the downriggers. Had an awesome morning and can’t wait to get back out and get some more for the smoker! Tight lines everybody!
