Was planning on going to Mayfield this weekend but decided to drive past and try out Merwin. I had never been there so I tried not to overthink it and started driving around looking for spots that looked "musky"
Within an hour, after several follows, we figured out where they were and what cover/structure they preferred at this particular lake. 4 hours later, I hooked into a freight train! see pic
Due to time constraints, we could only spend 4-5 hours at this lake before heading to Mayfield but I'm intrigued enough to return

Great looking fish, that thing's a stud! I may have to head over and try some of those west side tigers some day. It's just hard to justify a trip that far when we have tigers right here in the Spokane area.

Nice job

What causes their tail fin to be so chewed up?

Several theories but I don't think anyone really knows for sure

Thanks AJ's Dad,
I need to get over to the Spokane area and familiarize myself with Silver and Newman. Probably next spring/summer I'll give them a try.
