Went to Newman lake on Tuesday. This time only a 20 minute drive from our vacation home in Spokane valley. Got on the water around 8am. Started with the dropshot. Started catching lots of little large mouth and smallmouth. Caught a solid largemouth by some big slate rock and a dock. Buzzed across lake to the opposite shore line and started working docks with dropshot. Brother casts out, boom fish on, takes him around the boat and into thick weeds, drag screaming he somehow mussels it out of the weeds slowly tires it out and gets in into the net. It's a pig. Puts it on the scale, 4.5 pounds. His new PB released with no harm. Started fishing for crappie and only caught 1 on a live target crank bait, also by my brother. Caught countless bluegill and perch. Both with no size at all. Got off the water around 3.
