With Cascade Lake water levels so low that we can't launch the Lund, we decided to try Mountain Lake. First time there in maybe 4 years!
Still had to get creative to launch and get in the boat away from the ramp, but at least we could despite it's low level.
Started at 10:15am and finished at 1:45pm. Might have stayed longer but the wind came up causing all of us to put on heavy sweatshirts and hunker down. None-the-less, we were the only water craft on the lake until we were departing. And the walkers and camper around the lake were quiet so it was a peaceful experience....just what we needed.
Just two minutes after launch I boated a small trout. Fish on! Yahoo! As the day would up, I boated 7 trout, K boated 3 and poor P stunk real bad so we kept him down wind most of the day. However P gets big cheers for being the chef and feeding us so we could sustain enough energy to bring in all those fish. LOL. All the fish were small, except of course for the one that got away. I had a decent size fish hook-up in a turn and of course he ran across the other's lines so the three of us were tangled and the fish got away. But we saw it jump a number of times so I will claim the biggest fish of the day. We all had very quick hits that didn't button up, so I'd have to say it was a fairly active 3.5 hours of fishing.
Thanks to P and K for helping me get on the water today because my mental well being needed the respite that only fishing can bring.
