Haven't seen many bass reports for my local lakes lately so figured I'd contribute. I got off work early so decided to some fishing. Started out at beaver at about 630pm. After my 3rd dink of a fish (literally less than 6 inches) I decided to move to clear lake where I generally have more luck. Man was that water clear! Got on the water at 8pm and launched from the gravel side. It was hot and windy as always. I pitched a jig next to the pilings to hook into my first fish. It wasn't very big, but compared to what I was catching at beaver she sure had some fight. I continued to work the pilings missing a bite close to the end before jetting across to the next set of pilings in the shade where I managed to pick one off a Texas rig. (Another dink). With the sun going down I knew I didn't have much longer, so I went to the far side of the lake to work the lily pads with my popping frog. I hooked into one almost immediately, watching the v on the top of the water as it went after it. Then I didn't catch anything for another while and the sun was almost completely down by now. I was just getting ready to leave when I decided one last cast out from the lily pads a ways and bam got ate up by a 2 lber or so to top the night off. Finally some wieght! I dont know what it is but the hour before sunset is always been really productive for me.
