Alta Lake probably ranks among Washington state's most beautiful Largemouth Bass fisheries. On what was expected to be the hottest day of the year I squeezed in a few hours of bass fishing in the early morning hours and caught over 30 bass on a wide variety of lures. I took the opportunity to film another episode of Cascadia Kayak Angler this time focusing on my 3 favorite and most reliable techniques for Largemouth Bass.

In the morning I started out fishing the new Whopper Plopper 75 and caught a few fish. Then I transitioned to a spinnerbait pulling fish out of flooded timber and reeds. Later I transitioned to senkos and ned rigs. All fish were caught in 9-20' of water with bigger fish come out of deeper water.

Great video and awesome report. I am so conflicted this time of year whether to target salmon or bass. I love both! Thanks for sharing your report and video. Now you need to make a bass lure out of a beer can like you did with the Kokanee.

Nice report and video! Alta was always on my list of lakes to catch a bass. I fished it in May 1990 and couldn't find any bass. I also liked the State Park there for camping.

Alta is hands down one of my favorite. You will not catch trophy bass in it. But you will catch your share of 1-2 pounders. And lets not forget the huge Kokenee that are in it too. I always start with my limit and then go bass.
