Launched at 6:15 AM- fished till 2:00 pm. when the lake turned into mayhem from all the jet skis/ski boats.
Dad and I never went more than a few minutes without a fish on. Smallies were scattered all over, however, we ran into several larger fish in 15-20 ft of water hanging out off of points, and also we found quite a few in 20-30 ft of water holed up by the stumps / deadheads located throughout the lake. Probably because the skiers/jet skis and other maniacs on the lake don't get close to those spots. All the better for me.
I grew up in this area, but I've only really fished Lake Tapps consistently just this year. It's a great lake, lots of consistent action, and on a nice day, you can't beat the views.
All fish were caught using ned rigged Z man in bass pattern or neko/wacky rigged light green and pumpkin 3" senko's.
Overall, great day on the water.
