A very nice day of fishing on Lake Samish. Josh Hoines recommendations from a few days ago were spot on. My only problem was losing my favorite God's Tooth 50/50 gold-silver spoon. It was a bit odd since my downrigger was set to 30 feet and in 60 feet of water it hung up on something. Needless to say, I ordered two more lures from Zombie Tinder.

I then tried a variety of lures ending up with a micro pink hoochie with small (3mm) white beads and a moonglow smiley blade to finish my limit of ten.

The AIS process went quickly and easily. Of course, I have a 12 foot Smokercraft so it's easy to inspect.

Tight lines.

I dont know what part of the lake you were on, but in front of camp Lutherwood on the far end there is at least one waterlogged rope that probably lost its bouy many years ago, the rope hangs mid water column and we've lost gear on it before. Its name is ghost rope.

Conconully upper lake has one of those too. 30 feet down in 65 feet of water. I think it is a tree laying off the hip of a contour sticking out into deeper water. Lots of gear on that thing... Time to get the snorkel and mask out and go for a swim when the water level is low in Sept...

That sounds like it might be it! If someone pulls it up, it may contain a lot of lures. Tight lines bro.

I plan to try Conconully either this summer or next. Maybe I will try to find a dive buddy who wants to check out the snag! :)). Tight lines bro.

We managed to get our gear almost all the way to the surface one day, but the end of the rope wouldnt quite reach the surface and we could see in the water that the gear was snagged about 5' from the very end. It also looked like there were already shiny objects broken off on it. Lost a flasher and lure that day and still tell stories about it.
