I can't really rate this report because I caught the fish I needed for my County Challenge 12 minutes into the trip! What a beautiful lake though!! It was tough to leave it so soon but I wanted to take advantage of the clock and get to Mason County pronto! Had one bite on a sinking Senko which clued me in to the bass potentially being suspended. I headed straight for the transition bank near a spawning flat I picked while looking at the topo map that morning. After the Senko bite (which was a small fish) I started slow rolling a swim jig, hoping to stay just above the grass and discourage the tiny fish from biting. Was maybe my third cast and thunk! He wrapped me around a dock pole and we stalemated for a moment but the he kicked loose and fought very well! Boated, photoed, released and as I turned to blast back to the launch I was treated to the picture of what I want to say is Mt. St. Helens? Some low clouds and blue skies made me stare for a few minutes and I almost forgot I had a camera lol
I will be back to this lake as it looks amazing to fish! Be advised that the launch is steep and the parking area limited (for trailers)
